Below is a list of therapies done during Panchakarma at LifeSpa.  Dr. Douillard will prescribe your therapies based on what will be the most beneficial for you.

    • If you are having a Day Spa, which is 1 hour with 1 therapist for $145, Dr. Douillard will prescribe 2 therapies.  For example, a Day Spa might be udvartana and swedana or abhyanga and shirodhara.
    • If you are having a Royal, which is 2 horus with 2 therapists for $345, Dr. Douillard will prescribe 4 therapies.  For example, a Royal could be a garshana, abhyanga, swedana, shirodhara or an udvartana, swedana, nasya.
    • For more information please see Panchakarma at LifeSpa.

Abhyanga (ah-be-young-uh) is an individually prepared herbal-oil massage designed to deeply penetrate the skin, relax the mind-body, break up impurities, and stimulate both arterial and lymphatic circulation.

Garshana (gar-shuh-nuh) is dry, lymphatic skin-brushing with wool or silk gloves. This enhances circulation and cleans the skin so that subsequent oil and herbal treatments can pene-trate deeply into the freshly cleansed pores of the skin.

Nasya (naws-ee-yuh) clears the sinuses of excess mucus and nourishes the deep dryness that is the root of many respira-tory, central nervous system and allergic conditions by inhal-ing individually prescribed herbal oil through the nose.

Pizichili (pizza-chili) is a continuous stream of warm herbal-ized oil soothingly poured over your body by two therapists as they massage you in perfect unison. Deeply cleansing and transformational. (Additional charge may apply)

Shirodhara (sheer-oh-dar-uh) is administered by gently and methodically pouring warm herbalized oil over the forehead which synchronizes brain waves and profoundly coordinates the mind, body, and spirit.

Swedana (svway-duh-nah) is an individually herbalized steam bath. The head and the heart are kept cool while the body is heated to remove mental, emotional, and physical toxins lodged deeply within the cells.

Udvartana (ood-vart-uh-nuh) is a deeply penetrating lym-phatic massage with herbal paste. This powerful exfoliating treatment magically conditions the skin while pressing stag-nant lymphatic toxins out of the body.

Vishesh (vee-shesh) is a deep muscular Ayurvedic massage that breaks up adhesions and improves circulation deep within the muscle spindles. When channels are blocked, neither awareness nor blood can access these deep tissues.

Basti (baw-stee) is an herbal enema that pulls toxins and impurities which the Panchakarma treatments flush to the colon, thus restoring normal eliminative functions.

Shiro-Abhyanga-Nasya is a luxurious combination of a deep head/neck/shoulder massage, facial lymphatic massage and a nasya with deep inhalation of therapeutic aromatic steam.

Ayurvedic Facial with LifeSpa’s own Ayurvedic natural skin-care products that will transform your skin by healing the cause of aging, blemishes, and wrinkles found in the deepest layers of your skin. Deeply moisturizing and rejuvenating.

Qualities of the LifeSpa Ayurvedic Therapist

It has been said that the Ayurvedic Therapist is the soul of the clinic.  Because they have the most prolonged and intimate contact with the patient, our LifeSpa Ayurvedic Therapists focus on these qualities of heart and intention.
    • The Ayurvedic Therapist feels and exhibits sincere concern for each patient’s physiological and psychological well-being.
    • The Ayurvedic Therapist possesses a very pure intention to help the patient.  The intention to help and nurture is the most important quality for a therapist to own.
    • The Ayurvedic Therapist enjoys physical work and expressing love through the hands and sense of touch.
    • The Ayurvedic Therapist gives total attention to the patient during the treatment.  The patient should always feel that they are receiving the most royal treatment and that the  therapist’s concern is only for them.
    • The Ayurvedic Therapist possesses and nurtures good feelings towards co-workers.
    • The Ayurvedic Therapist must be able to manage conflict and stress with clients and co-workers by realizing that the solution in Ayurveda is to all-ways Give and Love over being right or wrong.
    • The Ayurvedic Therapist has a balanced sense of personal responsibility and functions well as a team member.
    • The attitude of the Ayurvedic Therapist reflects pride in their work.  The therapist’s physical appearance is clean, neat and well-groomed at all times.
    • The Ayurvedic therapist makes the commitment to be sober, well-rested and have a proper meal break.  The ability to care for the patient depends on the therapist being well-rested, happy, and healthy.
    • The therapist always leaves their personal issues, judgments and moods outside of the treatment room.
